Arno Steguweit was born in Cologne in 1978 and from the age of three grew up in Munich. Instead of studying business economics as initially planned, Steguweit opted for a career in the Hospitality Industry instead and in 1999, after his Abitur, he started his apprenticeship at Traube Tonbach in Baiersbronn, one of the most renowned Gourmet Restaurants in Germany.

This is where he discovered his passion for wine and his sure talent with choosing, appraising and recommending wine. He followed his apprenticeship with a 5-month internship at the vineyard Dr. Heger in Ihringen am Kaiserstuhl, after which he joined the Restaurant Adlon at the Hotel Adlon, Berlin, as assistant Sommelier in 2003. After successfully completing the Sommelier Course in 2004 he was promoted to Chef Sommelier and thus first came in contact with the culinary dimensions of water during the course of assembling a mineral water menu.

In 2006, at the age of 28, he joined the two star Michelin Restaurant Fischers Fritz in the Regent Hotel Berlin as Sommelier and Assistant Restaurant Manager. In 2007 Arno Steguweit was awarded Berlins Sommelier of the Year Award, he was the youngest aspirant. In early 2010 he joined the Hotel Dorint Söl’ring Hof, Sylt, as Sommelier and Restaurant Manager in their two star Michelin Restaurant.

By now Arno Steguweit, father of the children and living in Berlin, devotes all his time to his two favourite subjects: wine and water. He runs a rare-wine shop and offers his unique knowledge of all services connected to the subject of water.
